MIA Day Trip # 2

I met my great friend Lola at the Minneapolis Institute of Art on Saturday. We spend about 2 hours walking around looking at art and talking. The MIA is so big it takes multiple trips to see everything.

Chuck Close - Frank

Chuck Close - Frank (Close Up)
Close's large paintings are created from a 8x10 photograph. The detail is amazing. You can see the windows and buildings in the eyeglasses

Raffaelo Monti - Veiled Lady
I am amazed at what Raffaelo is able to do with Marble to make it look like cloth.

Sir Alfred Gilbert - Kiss of Victory
Marble Statue.

Georgia O'Keefe - City Night
She is known for doing rural landscapes, flowers and natural surroundings but I love this city scene. The frame is hard to see but it is very industrial.

Edward Lewandowski - Circuit Breakers
This was placed next to the O'Keefe. This frame was cool too.

I set the Gallery alarm off earlier in another room.
